One Total, Better Together - Launching the Next Generation of Total Culture

Globally, Total wanted to launch a new and inspiring culture direction. The local affiliate asked us to develop a variety of strategies to help them with communicating this direction to their staff.
Our Assignment - Develop effective communication tools and experiences
However, to do so they realize that as a company they must make several improvements. Because people are their most central and valuable asset, they committed to the following aspects:
- Developing and promoting talent within Total
- Transforming Managers to Coaches
- Building a Good Workplace Environment
Globally the theme for this inspiring and fresh direction is One Total, Better Together. The local affiliate in Kenya asked us to create an experience and create branding materials in the upcoming Staff Forums in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu that would communicate what One Total, Better Together meant to the staff and how they could take advantage of the new direction.
Approach and Activation Roll Out
Because we were “starting a conversation” and did not want to bombard the Total Staff with too much information, especially because this was the first time they would be learning about the new direction. We had a short opportunity to pass on the value of the new direction to the individual and company, and to do so developed a variety of mediums to communicate this new and positive direction:
- Content that they would go home with to remember the “values launch” in the form of photos from the photobooth. The photobooth had props and large printed symbols that were relevant to the internal brand campaign. The photobooth backdrop had Better Together messaging and relatable faces that added a feel good, positive and celebratory note.
- We also had a video booth with the content from the booth being used in a video mashup.
- Content to understand new terms and direction in the form of flyers and roll up banners.
- We were also in charge of the stage look and feel and designed and printed a 3-meter by 6-meter stage backdrop banner that communicated the reason and theme of the event. But also provided a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing focal point for the evening’s events.
- Designed message enhancement activities that brought out the new values in a relatable way and go the participants to interact and engage with one another
- Photography and Videography coverage
Activation Success
Beyond meeting our client’s expectation with the rich and vibrant content, we also had several other affiliates reach out and ask us to share the content we developed with them.
